Police Officer Dies After Collapsing in Toilet, Investigations Underway
A police officer, Corporal Thomas Kiliswa, has died after collapsing in a toilet at his residence in Naitiri, Kimilili, Bungoma County.
Kiliswa, who had recently been transferred to the area as he awaited retirement in the coming year, was found unconscious in the toilet on Sunday. According to a police report, his wife became concerned after he failed to return from a bathroom visit and went to check on him, only to find him unresponsive.
She raised an alarm, and the officer was rushed to Jambos Medical Centre in Naitiri. He was later referred to Kiminini Cottage Hospital for specialized care after failing to regain consciousness. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the facility. His body has been moved to the mortuary for an autopsy.
Police are investigating the incident, with early reports suggesting the death may be linked to job-related stress or trauma.
Multiple Deaths Reported in Different Counties
In Koibatek, Baringo County, police are probing a suspected drowning incident after the body of an unidentified man was discovered floating at Qurusalal Waterfalls. Officers found the body in a prone position with no visible injuries, except for a bandage on the left wrist. The body has been moved to the mortuary for postmortem and identification.
Elsewhere, in Kiptagich, Kuresoi area, a 34-year-old man identified as Wesley Kibet Tanui was found dead inside his single-room timber house. Police noted the presence of vomit and blood coming from his nose. His body was taken to the mortuary pending autopsy and further investigations.
In Matungulu, Machakos County, the body of a 70-year-old man, David Kiio Muteki, was found under a bridge in the Ituma River. Authorities suspect he may have been murdered elsewhere and the body dumped at the location. An autopsy will be conducted as part of ongoing investigations.
