Rajab Abdul Kahali, better known by his stage name Harmonize, recently sparked conversation online after seemingly signaling the end of his romantic hopes. In a dramatic Instagram post, the Tanzanian star shared videos of himself setting fire to a bouquet meant for his ex, Frida Kajala, while a sorrowful heartbreak tune played in the background.
The name “Kajala” was clearly written on the flowers, leaving no doubt about who they were intended for. In one caption, Harmonize vented his frustration, calling the gesture “a waste of time and money.”
This emotional act is the latest in the saga of Harmonize’s turbulent relationship with actress Frida Kajala Masanja. Their love story began following Harmonize’s split from his Italian ex-wife, Sarah Michelotti, and was marked by multiple breakups and reunions. They even got engaged in June 2022, but the relationship officially ended in December of that year.
In March 2025, the pair were spotted sharing a warm hug at a football event, igniting speculation that a reunion might be on the horizon. Despite the buzz, both parties stayed silent about the moment and their relationship status.
The recent burning of the flowers has brought renewed attention to Harmonize’s personal life—especially in light of rumors linking him to fellow Tanzanian musician and instrumentalist Abigail Chams. Their closeness became noticeable in late 2024, and by early 2025, they were seen together frequently at clubs, in studios, and in cozy social media posts.
The fact that Harmonize still went out of his way to buy lavish gifts for Kajala—even while rumored to be dating Abigail—has left fans questioning whether he has truly moved on. To many, it appears he may still be emotionally tied to his past.
Despite the personal drama, Harmonize remains a dominant force in East African music. Since leaving WCB Wasafi in 2019, he has built his own label, Konde Music Worldwide (Konde Gang), and continues to influence the Bongo Flava and Afro Bongo music scenes.
