During an interview on The Breakfast Club, Davido, the hitmaker behind “Assurance,” spoke openly when asked if he was done with infidelity.
“Are you done cheating?” the interviewer asked.
Davido responded honestly, saying, “I don’t want any wahala. I’m okay. I can do it if I want to—but I don’t want to. I’ve got four kids and four baby mamas. I’ve had that experience. What more do you want to hear if I do it again?”
When asked if he would consider taking a second wife, his response was brief: “No.”
Davido, who is married to his longtime partner Chioma Avril Rowland, also shared the heartbreaking story of the loss of their son, Ifeanyi, who tragically drowned in their home’s swimming pool in 2022. Reflecting on that dark time, he said:
“My family kept me grounded. When my world went dark, they were there. I come from a very big family, and my wife’s family was also there, offering their support. My dad even paused everything, including his business.”
He went on to describe a meaningful moment in their healing process:
“We now have twins—a boy and a girl—and the boy looks and acts like our late son. My wife and I believe he came back. I believe in God. Sometimes, I felt like I was healing too quickly. You’re smiling, but then you realize you need to slow down. I told my boys I needed to take care of home, so I moved my family to Atlanta and got married.”
Addressing rumors of a feud with fellow Nigerian artist Tiwa Savage, Davido clarified that there’s no animosity between them:
“Tiwa is like my sister. We grew up together. The situation was personal—she’s close to my first baby mama. At that time, I was going through a court battle and asked her to help me see my daughter. That led to an argument, but it was like how siblings argue. There’s no bad blood. She’s an amazing person, and I’d never let anything happen to her.”
